Role: Senior/Expert Zscaler Professional Services Consultant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Zscaler Professional Services Consultant (Senior/Expert level) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals.

​

In this role, you will serve as the Zscaler Subject Matter Expert (SME)—providing strategic guidance, technical leadership, and hands-on expertise in the deployment, optimization, and lifecycle management of Zscaler cloud security solutions.

 

As a trusted advisor to a major Federal Agency, you will play a key role in shaping secure communications infrastructure by:

• Aligning Zscaler implementations with Federal cybersecurity frameworks such as TIC 3.0 and applicable Executive Orders.

• Ensuring resiliency, compliance, and adherence to architectural best practices.

• Supporting the integration of Zscaler platforms into a Federal Zero Trust environment.

 

The ideal candidate must also demonstrate expertise in integrating Zscaler with real-time communications systems, including:

• Cisco Webex

• Microsoft Teams

• Voice over IP (VoIP)

• Video Teleconferencing (VTC)

• IP-based Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV)

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and deployment of Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), and Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX) solutions for the Department of Justice (DOJ) and other Federal stakeholders.

• Provide expert guidance and develop configuration recommendations that align with Federal cybersecurity mandates.

• Collaborate with network engineers, security teams, and Federal stakeholders to seamlessly integrate Zscaler into complex enterprise environments.

• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced Zscaler-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and support escalated cases.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, SOPs, and end-user training materials.

• Support compliance efforts by participating in security assessments, audits, and internal reviews to ensure adherence to Federal cybersecurity policies.

Stay current with emerging Zscaler capabilities and evolving cloud security trends; proactively recommend enhancements to strengthen solution performance.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; Associate degree with 10+ years; or High School diploma with 12+ years of experience.

• U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

• At least 6 years of experience in network and cloud security, including 3–5 years of direct, hands-on work with Zscaler platforms (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX).

• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, proxies, HTTPS, and SSL/TLS.

• Experience with identity and access management (IAM) systems such as Okta, Azure AD, LDAP, and SAML-based SSO integrations.

• Proficiency with packet analysis and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting U.S. Federal agencies with familiarity in Federal cybersecurity frameworks such as FedRAMP, TIC 3.0, and NIST.

• Working knowledge of Zscaler Client Connector deployment, Palo Alto Networks firewalls, and other endpoint security solutions.

• Proficiency with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and virtualization technologies.

• Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

• Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, PCNSA, CISSP, or CCSP.

• Strongly preferred Zscaler certifications beyond ZCIP/ZCPP, including:

  • Zscaler Certified Delivery Specialist (ZCDS)

  • Zscaler Digital Transformation Engineer (ZDTE)

  • Zscaler Digital Transformation Administrator (ZDTA)

  • ZCCA or other equivalent advanced certifications

 

Highly Desired Certifications:

• Zscaler Cloud Certified Professional – Internet Access (ZCCP-IA) OR

• Zscaler Cloud Certified Professional – Private Access (ZCCP-PA)
